Guide for new translators

Below is a brief description of what you can expect when you become a freelance translator for VietransPro:

A wide array of different job types

As a freelance translator, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of different translation tasks. Our clients request everything from legal translations through to the translation of product descriptions, financial reports, criminal records, and much more. We, therefore, need translators who are specialised within different areas of expertise. VietransPro expects you to hold a Master’s degree – although not necessarily in languages or translation. For example, you might have an academic background within the humanities, engineering, medicine, or something else altogether. If you have a background within a specialist subject other than languages or linguistics, your work will be proofread by a trained linguist with a focus on grammar, etc. (without altering specialist terminology unnecessarily).

Decide for yourself where to work

As a freelance translator for VietransPro, you can work remotely from wherever you like in the world. VietransPro’s team of project coordinators are based out of our offices in Copenhagen and are online between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm (GMT+1). When a new job is available, one of our project coordinators will contact you and provide all of the relevant information pertaining to the potential task. You can then decide whether you want to accept or reject the task.

Our procedure

Below is a description of our complete procedure for translation tasks, from job confirmation through to delivery and invoicing. Certain minor details have been omitted in the interest of keeping things simple.

You will receive a job request via e-mail from one of VietransPro’s project coordinators.

The e-mail will contain details on the type of text, it is the level of difficulty, the price per word, and the deadline for delivery.

You are then free to choose whether you would like to accept or reject the job.

If you accept, you will then be sent a confirmation e-mail.

The last step is then simply to invoice us jointly for all tasks at the end of each month. Once you are registered with us, we will send you a guide containing all the information you need when creating your invoices to us.

You are very welcome to get in touch if you need any further information about the procedure for translation assignments that we use here at VietransPro. We recommend sending an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  or to This email address is being protected from spambots. You are welcome to send in your application at any time as we want to work with as broad a team as possible. Even if we may already have translators specialised within the same language pair that you offer, we are nonetheless often in need of additional translators. Several of our clients work within niche industries and we are therefore always interested in establishing relationships with translators who are specialised in particular areas of expertise.
